Job description: This job requires 3+ years of Oracle DBA and 1+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in which the candidate has designed, built and supported large Oracle and SQL Server databases for highly critical applications. This person will work closely with peer DBA's, as well as other roles within the organization, such as System Administrators, Application Support, and IT Architects. Responsibilities will include new installations, ongoing support, 24 x 7 on call rotation, as well as looking for business growth initiatives. Applicants will be expected to work in Rochester, NY.

Required Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience providing technical DBA support for Oracle 11g and 12c
- Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS architecture
- Experienced performing Oracle installations, database builds and upgrades
- Strong performance and tuning skills
- Experience designing and implementing RMAN, RAC, Data Guard, partitioning, and Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control
- Able to write and read scripts written in PL/SQL, perl and c-shell
- Working knowledge/experience with Linux (including Oracle Linux)
- Experience with Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) or Exadata is a plus

- 1+ years’ experience providing technical DBA support of SQL Server 2008 R2 and above (database, as well as SSIS, SSRS and SSAS)
- Experience performing SQL Server installations, database builds and upgrades
- Experience doing backups/restores with both native SQL Server commands and backup utilities such as Microsoft DPM
- Experience designing and supporting SQL Server Always On Availability groups and clusters, and experience with SQL Server in Azure or other cloud environments is a plus

- Strong verbal, written, organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide accurate and realistic work estimates; commit and deliver accordingly.
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills; creative thinking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional non-business hours support
- Ability to work productively in a team environment and participate as a positive and cooperative team member
- BS or BA in Computer Science or related field
