Application Support Administrator

The Applications Support Administrator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, supporting and implementing all global applications, systems and interfaces. They act as a technical liaison for various projects to enhance company growth and customer satisfaction and a mentor for the less experience team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Liaison
• Serve as a technical representative to handle multiple projects in a fast paced software and technical lifecycle. Prepare project plans if needed, track progress and be an active contributor to ensure objectives are met within the timeline and budgets.
• Recommend configuration alternatives for various applications with the aim of optimizing performance, easing usability and modifying cost for the company.
Expert Global Application Support
• Possess the leadership skills required to train and transfer knowledge to other team members.
• Interact with developers, network and database administrators to seamlessly implement solutions to complex technical issues.
• Provide high quality technical support for all functions. Take ownership of technical issues and take the initiative to drive the fixes to conclusion.
• Uphold a basic knowledge of the needs of each functional and technical team in order to help preserve service level agreements.
• Maintain a full understanding of all global applications, with the intention of fixing issues in a timely manner.
• Assist in the maintenance of applications to allow optimal performance for users.
• Provide input to optimize the performance of systems; monitor and provide performance tuning to system components as required ensuring optimum system functions.
• Manages system administration procedures and ensure compliance.
• Sustain the knowledge of all SOX and change control policies in order to adhere to these procedures.
• Assist in the formulation of procedures and best practices for users of applications.
• Document SOP’s and workflows as needed for global applications.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Working knowledge of current Microsoft Windows and client/server network environments.
• Advanced SQL and/or Oracle database knowledge.
• Proficient knowledge in ERP, WMS & Financial applications.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical expertise.
• The ability to prioritize demands for mission critical systems.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of the business enterprise functions and processes.
• Excellent time management.
• Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to produce exceptional quality output.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management.
• Works scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times; notifies supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in accordance with company policy.
• Immediately informs supervisor of safety, sanitation and equipment malfunctions and concerns regarding quality issues.
• Seeks assistance from supervisor in identifying and reporting problems or concerns relating to job functions, supervision and personal employment status.
• Adapts readily to changes in workload, staffing and scheduling.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Complies with supervisory/management direction.
• Conducts self in a professional manner with co-workers, management, customers and others.
Work Environment
• Normal office environment.
• Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the job.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for the purpose of implementing or
training on hardware/software applications.
• Extensive contact with employees and external business partners and vendors.
• Occasional travel may be required.
Experience
• Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in systems administration and/or related areas.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
Education
• Bachelors of Science Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience is required
