Brief Description:
Responsible for maintaining and improving recoverability, availability and performance of Oracle database and HTTP Server/APEX systems in production, development, test and integration environments. Works closely with his or her immediate DBA team and other teams inside and outside of IT. Follows company, IT and DBA team policies and best practices. Translates policies, rules, procedures and precedents into technical solutions. Devises new methods of implementing business and operational requirements, adapts existing methods to changing conditions.
Education and Experience:
* Essential:
o Bachelor's degree, preferably with IT or Database-related focus.
o Three to five years experience in Oracle database administration
o Familiarity with 9i, 10g and 11g Oracle database administration
o Proficiency in using Unix and Linux environments.
o Strong Unix shell scripting skills (ksh, bash
* Desired:
o Oracle Certified Professional certification
o Familiarity with administering 8i Oracle databases
o Experience supporting billing database systems
o Experience installing and supporting Oracle HTTP Server and Application Express
o Proficiency in using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10g
o Experience supporting multi-terrabyte Oracle database systems with large partitioned tables

* Ability to multi-task and manage tasks of various priority levels
