SQL Server System Administrator

Kane IT Solutions is currently assisting a client in the Rochester NY area in the search for a SQL administrator. This person will be working with EPIC to perform updates while looking at complex systems to do maintenance and some develop enhancements. Must be comfortable managing a varied environment of production databases.
Share daily SQL on-call reboots, restores, and re mediate failed SQL jobs of over 150 SQL databases.
Primarily Responsibilities:
• Managing numerous daily SQL on-call projects to upgrade dozens of SQL Servers (i.e. SQL 2000>>SQL 2008) while working with departmental application administrators/application vendors/server administrators to plan, schedule and perform SQL Server upgrades.
• Daily on-call SQL issues such as failed maintenance jobs, performance problems, database restores, and accessibility issues for 2-3 days per week
Qualifications:
• 2-5 years performing SQL Server administration.
• Some project management skills to accomplish the migrations/upgrades and customer service skills to respond to user issues while on-call.
