POSITION DESCRIPTION
Oracle 10G DBA

SUMMARY:
As a member of the Network and Systems Infrastructure Team, this person works with team members to ensure that the systems are resilient, available, and secure. His/her primary responsibility is to help manage all aspects systems administration with a focus on PeopleSoft, Oracle, Microsoft IIS, and SQL Server administration. In addition to managing systems and applications, this person assists with developing policies, practices, and service level agreements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform administration duties on Oracle and MS SQL Server databases including installation, configuration, optimization, and documentation.
• Perform Windows Server and IIS administration.
• Help manage the Oracle PeopleSoft applications.
• Help maintain test environment to assess configuration changes to network, server, desktops, and applications
• Assist in the evaluation and purchase of products and service that improve information technology delivery to the campus
• Evaluate and recommend system enhancements to improve operational efficiencies
• Provides Tier II and Tier III support to customers and team members
• Participate in disaster recovery and solution planning for servers and systems


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree in a technology-related field
• At least 5 years of experience administering network and system services with a focus on database system administration, web infrastructure management, and application support and maintenance
• Knowledge of the following technologies: Oracle 10g, PeopleSoft, SQL Server 2005, IIS 6.0, Windows Scripting using WMI and VBScript, Windows security
• Certification in any of the above areas is a plus
